Michelle has recently taken early retirement from the Civil Service, supporting Army, Royal Air Force and Civilian Staff.
Living and working in the centre of Tarleton means Michelle has the time to be an active Councillor: she has been out canvassing and is already taking up issues on behalf of residents such as reporting potholes to Lancashire County Council.
Michelle has 8 years previous experience as a Borough Councillor which included 2 years on Planning Committee. She is keen to access the Community Infrastructure Levy funding from developers to deliver benefits to Tarleton. Another priority is ensuring there is no development on agricultural land or any development elsewhere that will increase the risk of flooding.
As a former Lollypop Lady, Michelle has a special interest in road safety and traffic calming measures.
A grandmother and former Brownie and Guide Guider, Michelle is committed to ensuring provision for children, especially playgrounds that are more accessible all year round.
Michelle is very pleased with West Lancashire Labour’s funding award to Hesketh Bank and Tarleton Helpers, providing a weekly lunch club and befriending service, dementia support group and coffee mornings, to support reducing loneliness and isolation in the local community.
