Cllr Julie Gibson

Julie Gibson has over twenty years’ experience of working as a local councillor in West Lancashire, including ten years as the Lancashire County Councillor for Skelmersdale West where she has been involved in dealing with Economic Development, Environment and Climate Change.

Working with local residents, Julie has played a key role in supporting numerous community campaigns including the opposition to the expansion of the White Moss Landfill site in Skelmersdale and the fight to block the proposed incinerator in Simonswood.

Having worked for many years across the voluntary, community, and faith sectors in Lancashire and Merseyside, delivering regeneration and community development projects, Julie now works as a postwoman based in the Ormskirk depot.

Alongside colleagues and volunteers, Julie helped establish the local branch of Fans Supporting Foodbanks at Skelmersdale United, which collects much needed food supplies for those in financial hardship during the cost of living crisis.

If re-elected, Julie promises to continue pushing for environmental improvements in West Lancashire and to support residents in making their voices heard on community issues.

“It would be an honour to be re-elected as a Councillor for Skelmersdale West Division and to be able to work with my colleagues at West Lancashire Borough Council to continue delivering for the residents of the ward and across the whole of West Lancashire.”
